|Susan McFarland is a spinner, weaver and shepherd from Columbus, WI. She is the owner of Susan’s Fiber Shop, and co-authored the book Combs, Combs, Combs.
Susan has raised sheep for many years, starting with a spinner’s flock when she was young. In 2005, she began breeding Teeswater sheep, which are rare in this country and was later instrumental in getting some of these animals accepted into the UK Teeswater Sheep Breeders’ Association registry. She has also been on the board of directors for the American Teeswater Sheep Association. She has taught at many festivals and fiber events, including SOAR and Convergence.
Susan will be speaking Friday, March 11 at 7:00 pm on the topic of Teeswater Sheep. Susan McFarland is one of the few breeders of Teeswater sheep in this country. Teeswater is a rare breed from the UK. Susan will tell us about how they came to this country, and how their wool can be used in the fiber arts. It is very good for doll hair and Santa beards, as well as for making durable, silky yarn and art yarn.
Thank You to our Sponsors for their support of the event!
