Heritage Festival: Jay County Historical Society Museum

The 16th Annual Jay County Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday, September 22nd from 11 AM to 6 PM and on Sunday, September 23rd, from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Jay County Historical Museum. Admission to the festival is FREE!
Exhibits, demonstrations and displays will be held both inside and outside the museum. Those demonstrations inside the museum will include gun making, weaving, printing, and quilting. Those outside the building will include a broom maker, rope maker, woodcarvers, stained glass artist, and a blacksmith. There will be early encampments, a Civil War encampment, horse drawn wagon rides, and other reenactors.
Many childrens activities and crafts will be provided, also free of charge. Kids will be able to walk on stilts, roll hoops, make a birdhouse from a gourd, do a leather punching activity, milk a âcow,â and other fun and educational activities. Kids may also sample the feel of a pioneer school in the one-room school inside the museum. Vendors of all sorts of homemade craft items will be on the grounds.
This years stage entertainment features groups returning from last year, along with new entertainment.
Parking will once again be available at East Elementary School. Golf carts will be available both days to transport festival-goers back and forth. However, golf carts will not be allowed on the festival grounds.
