Rockets Baseball Team

The Rockets play at Runkle-Miller field on the southwest corner of Portland and dedicate this season to former Rocket managers, Dick Runkle and Ray Miller for whom the field is named. Ray Miller managed the team for 30 years amassing over 900 wins and Indiana state champions in '85, '91, '94, '96, '97, '99, '01, '04, '06, '08. Son Randy Miller is currently team manager and president. The Portland Rockets are a nonprofit organization sponsored by city businesses and donations.
 
The Rockets have been affiliated with the American Amatuer Baseball Congress, the Fort Wayne Feberation, the Eastern Indiana Baseball League, the Limberlost League, the Grantland Rice League and now are members of the Heartland Baseball League as well as the National American Baseball Federation.
